Kayaking trip Saturday, March 3rd

Richard and I went on a wonderful kayak trip yesterday. We drove an hour north and launched in a creek off Heckscher Drive. It was a bit cool, in the 60's, with a gentle breeze. The sun was mostly behind clouds and the tide was very low. In fact, at one point my kayak was grazing the bottom of the creek bed and I finally had to turn around and go back the way I came when I paddled to a very shallow end which was almost completely closed off with an oyster bed. I was able to paddle pretty close to a few shore birds, but not only did I leave home with an almost- dead camera battery, I filled up my memory card and had to quickly discard some old photos to make new space. Next time I'll bring an extra battery and an extra memory card. Here are a few of my favorite photos from yesterday.
